HUNTINGDON, Pa. (March 7, 2020) - The seventh-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team got double-digit kills from five different players on the day as they topped Juniata College 3-2 before defeating Pennsylvania State Altoona 3-0 to round out a perfect day Saturday at the Juniata Tri-Match. 
Junior Jack Bittker, seniors Jonathan Frenzel and David Lehman and sophomore Jack Fyda all posted double-digit kills in the win over Juniata while junior Ryan Byrne finished in double figures in kills as well against Penn State Altoona as the Ducks moved to 17-4 overall this season. 
Bittker and setter Grant Burden were both fantastic in the win over the Eagles as each posted a double-double. Bittker finished with 16 kills and 12 digs for his third double-double this season while Burden had 52 assists and a career-high 16 digs to go along with four kills. 
Lehman matched Bittker in kills with 16 in the match while hitting .217 to move into fourth place in program history with 1,246 career kills. He needs just 138 more kills this season to pass Gabe Shankweiler for third in program history. 
In the win over Altoona, Byrne posted 13 kills while hitting .426 and racking up six assists to help the Ducks earn their 10th sweep of the year. 
With the victory over Juniata, who received votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, Stevens is now 8-3 when playing teams either ranked or receiving votes this season. 
Volleys and Points 
	- Stevens jumped ahead 5-1 in the opening set after back-to-back kills by Lehman. 
- The Eagles answered immediately with a 5-1 run of their own to even the contest at six. 
- Trailing 14-11, the Ducks rattled off four straight points thanks to kills by Fyda and Lehman to re-take the lead 15-14. 
- With the score tied at 20, Juniata scored back-to-back points and was able to trade points the rest of the way to earn a 25-23 win in the first set. 
- Holding a 4-3 lead early in set number two, Stevens went on an 8-2 run featuring kills from Fyda, Bittker, Frenzel and Lehman to extend the lead to 12-5. 
- Juniata cut the deficit to three after a 7-3 flurry to make the score 15-12. 
- The Ducks kept the Eagles at arms-length the rest of the way, despite the fact that Junaita fought off three straight set points late, as Bittker put the set away with a kill to give Stevens a 25-23 win and even the match at 1-1. 
- Leading 5-4 in the third, Stevens used a quick 5-1 run highlightedby a pair of kills by Burden to make the score 10-5. 
- The Ducks extended the lead to as many as seven at 19-12, but the Eagles did not go away quietly as they scored five straight points to cut the deficit back to two. 
- Stevens did not falter, however, getting a kill on for its final four points of the set to win 25-23. 
- Juniata raced out to an early lead in set four, scoring seven of the first 10 points in the set. 
- Frenzel ensured an immediate response for the Ducks as he put down three kills as a part of a 5-0 run to make the score 8-7 in favor of Stevens. 
- With Stevens leading 12-11, the Eagles went on their largest run of the match, 11-1, capped by a service ace to give Juniata a 21-12 edge. 
- The Ducks were able to cut the deficit to four with a 6-1 run of their own, but Juniata put the contest away late by scoring four of the final five points. 
- In the fifth and final set, Juniata jumped out to an early 4-2 lead only to be erased by Stevens after the Ducks rattled off four straight points thanks to a pair of kills by Fyda. 
- After the Eagles tied things up at seven, Bittker put down a kill to give the Ducks a two-point edge at 11-9. 
- Lehman and Burden then produced back-to-back kills and Stevens took advantage of an attack error to win the fifth set 15-13 and the match 3-2. 
Inside the Numbers 
	- Four of the five sets in the match were decided by the minimum two points, but all four were decided in the regular 25-point rally and did not require extra points. 
- Juniata out-hit Stevens .284 to .245 in the match, but the Ducks held a 13-9 edge in total blocks to balance things out. 
- Both Fyda and Frenzel finished the match with seven total blocks while freshman Stedman Van Arsdale had five blocks. 
- Burden has now crossed the 50 assists plateau three times this season and was extremely effective attacking as well, putting down four of his five attack attempts. 
- Speaking of effective, Frenzel was just that in the match with 12 kills on just 18 swings while posting just three errors for a .500 attack percentage. 
- In the three total set wins, Stevens committed just 14 total attack errors overall.

	- The Ducks return to Middle Atlantic Conference play Wednesday as they travel to Dallas, Pennsylvania, to take on Misericordia at 7:00 p.m. 
- It is believed to be the first meeting between the schools in the history of the programs.
