Men’s Tennis Takes Down FDU-Florham for Fourth Consecutive 9-0 Win

Ducks have yet to drop a single set this season

MADISON, N.J. (April 17, 2021) – For the fourth consecutive match, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team won in sweeping 9-0 fashion as they did not drop a set on the road against Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus.

The Ducks have yet to drop a set this season as they move to 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in MAC Freedom competition.

"Our guys did a great job today on the road against a classy FDU squad," head coach Steve Gachko said. "We have a busy week ahead and are excited to get back to work on Monday."

In doubles competition, Aashi Kulakarni and Marc Feliu swept through line one 8-0, Keegan Morris and Gabriel Sifuentes took line two 8-2 and Mark Pabalan and Garrett Kincaid grabbed victory on line three 8-1.

Brian Li was the first to finish at singles for the Ducks as he did not drop a single game in a perfect 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win on line six. He has now won every set he has played in this season with an impressive combined score of 48-2.

Just after Li finished, Feliu earned a straight set win at flight one 6-0, 6-1 as he is now 48-6 in games this season.

Line three was the third singles competition to finish as Morris won 6-1, 6-1 in straight sets for the third straight match. After playing on line one for each of the second and third competitions of the season, Morris has now dropped just four games this season.

Sifuentes earned the fourth singles win at flight four, taking home a 6-0, 6-3 win to put the Ducks on top 7-0 in the match. It is the first time Sifuentes has dropped a game this season, but the senior has still combined to go 36-3 combined this season.

Adam Borowczak picked up a victory on line five to put the Ducks on top 8-0, winning 6-1, 6-2. The first-year has won 36 of the 42 games he has played on the year.

The final singles competition to earn a victory was Kulakarni as he grabbed a 6-0, 6-3 win on flight two to clinch a 9-0 win. This season, he has now won matches on flights one, two and three.

Next Up: The Ducks will look to continue the win streak as they take on Lycoming College Wednesday, April 21 in Williamsport, Pa. at 3:30 p.m.
