WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (May 1, 2021) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team capped a perfect regular season with a 9-0 victory over Wilkes University Saturday in a MAC Freedom match played at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
The victory moved Stevens to 8-0 on the year and to 5-0 in conference play, propelling the Ducks to the conference's regular-season title and the top overall seed in the upcoming MAC Freedom Championship playoffs. The Ducks wrapped up the 2021 regular season by not dropping a single point in any of the team's eight matches. Excluding the 2020 season, Stevens has been the top seed in the conference tournament in nine of the last 10 seasons. Stevens begins postseason play against eighth-seeded Misericordia in Hoboken on May 3.
"I'm very happy how we competed today on the road at Wilkes," said head coach
Steve Gachko. "It's always special to be able to host on our campus during postseason play and we hope to bring home another conference championship. The team is in great sprites and we plan to continue making small improvements each day to extend our season as much as possible."

Garrett Kincaid topped Cole Gibson and Connor Murphy at third doubles. Senior
Keegan Morris and first-year
Adam Borowczak capped the sweep at second doubles. The doubles win for Borowczak was his second of the year, and the first with Morris.
Stevens' strong play carried over to the singles flights, where the Ducks dropped scored straight set wins in four of the five flights to win the match. Feliu did not drop a point in defeating Matt Angara, 6-0, 6-0, at second singles and Kulakarni continued his outstanding debut season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jack Maline at third singles to clinch the match.
Borowczak and Pabalan extended the lead to seven with wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Junior
Brian Li scored his first victory of the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jacob Bosler at sixth singles. Morris needed a third set, but ultimately completed the Ducks' eighth straight sweep with a 6-0, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8 victory over Gibson in the first singles line.
