ATLANTA, Ga. (March 16, 2022) – Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball associate head coach
Jill Conroy was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 announced by the organization Monday.
Now in its seventh season, the WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.
Conroy is the first-ever honoree to patrol the sidelines on Castle Point and just the second coach to represent a program from the Middle Atlantic Conference.
"Jill is an amazing coach, with such potential to make an impact as a head coach one day," head women's basketball coach
Megan Haughey said. "She has given our program so much and is one of the hardest working people I have had the pleasure of working with. She makes us better every day."
Conroy recently completed her third season on the bench, guiding the Ducks to a 19-7 record and a 12-4 mark in the MAC Freedom. Over her three seasons in Hoboken, the Ducks have totaled 32 victories, including 20 in league play, and reached the MAC Freedom title game in February. Under Conroy's tutelage, the Ducks have earned four all-conference selections and one MAC Freedom year-end award. Additionally, outside of coaching, Conroy has served on multiple department committees, including co-chairing the Service Committee, which was recognized by the NADIIIAA with its Community Service Award in January.
"Congratulations to these 30 coaches who have distinguished themselves so early in their careers," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew in the organization's official announcement. "The WBCA is pleased to recognize this up-and-coming talent in our coaching family. We celebrate their effort on the basketball court as teachers and equally applaud the extensive role they play in impacting the lives of their student-athletes."
Conroy was one of eight Division III coaches honored by the WBCA.
