CHESTERTOWN, Md. (March 6, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team was defeated by Washington College 9-0 in a non-conference matchup played at the Schottland Tennis Center. With the loss, the Ducks record now moves to 1-3, while the Shorewomen improve to an unblemished 3-0.
"Another valuable match experience for us," said head coach
Arik Zeevy. "Credit to our opponents, they really took it to us in singles. We are looking forward to getting everyone healthy and continuing to get better every day."
Washington College took all three doubles flights, scoring an 8-5 win at line one and an 8-3 decision in the second.
Singles play also went the Shorewomen's way, with each of the victories coming in straight sets. Junior
Audrey Heaberlin played a tight match at second singles, before dropping a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) decision.
Up Next: Women's Tennis will next take the courts Mar. 23 when they take on the Rangers of Drew University at Drew's Tennis Complex. The Ducks have a 12-0 all-time record against Drew and won a 7-2 decision back in 2016 in a match also played in Madison.
