HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 20, 2022)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team dropped just 10 points in defeating Arcadia University 9-0 Wednesday in a MAC Freedom match at the Stevens Tennis Courts.

The victory was the fourth straight for the Ducks, who improved to 6-4 on the year and to a perfect 4-0 in league play. Arcadia dropped to 0-7 on the year and to 0-5 in the MAC Freedom. Stevens has won both all-time meetings between the programs. The Ducks remain tied with Wilkes atop the conference standings.

The Ducks got off to a blistering start courtesy of three 8-1 victories in doubles play. Senior Agatha Malinowski paired with junior Audrey Heaberlin won in the first position, with junior Juliette Marchisio and sophomore Polina Odintseva following with a victory in line three. Senior Alexis Fuda and first-year Isabella Dona closed out the sweep with a win at No. 2 doubles. The Ducks are a perfect 12-0 in doubles matches in the MAC Freedom and 28-10 overall.

The strong play carried over into singles play, where the Ducks posted three victories without dropping a point, with 6-0, 6-0 wins at first, fourth and sixth singles. Malinowski won on line one, with Odintseva following on line four. First-year Emma Eguia posted a shutout on line six to account for the three singles' sweeps. Heaberlin posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles and Fuda claimed a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 3 singles. Dona scored a 6-2, 6-2 win at fifth singles to provide the final margin of victory. Fuda's straight-set win over Arcadia's Claire Andrews clinched the contest.

Up Next: Women's Tennis heads to Dallas, Pennsylvania on Apr. 23 to take on Misericordia. A victory would move the Ducks closer to clinching the top overall seed in the MAC Freedom tournament.
