HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 3, 2023) – Stevens Institute of Technology head wrestling coach Joe Favia announced the Ducks' 2023-24 competition schedule Tuesday. The calendar features a total of 19 events, including 11 schedules duals, three of which are inside Canavan Arena, where the Ducks are 31-4 under Favia's leadership. Additional duals will be added to the schedule in a pair of events in the second half of the year.

As is the tradition, the annual Wrestle-Offs kick off the schedule. This year's event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29, with the action getting underway at 11 a.m. A dual with Delaware Valley on Nov. 1 inside Canavan Arena is the official start of the season. The Ducks blanked the Aggies 41-0 one year ago and have won the last four meetings in the all-time series.

The Ned McGinley Invitational on Nov. 4 is the first tournament of the year. The annual trip to the Midwest follows with a challenging dual with Wisconsin-Eau Claire kicking things off on Nov. 9, which will be contested at the La Crosse Center, and the Luther (College) Open two days later. While the Ducks are in Wisconsin and Iowa, a contingent of athletes will compete at the Roger Williams Invitational on Nov. 11.

The Journey Armbar at the Armory on Nov. 18 welcomes the Ducks back to the East Coast, with duals against Vermont State Castleton and Cornell College. After the Thanksgiving holiday, the Ducks head to York, Pennsylvania for the two-day New Standard Corporation Invitational, hosted by York.

Consecutive home duals bridge the New Year, with a first-time matchup with the United States Coast Guard Academy on Dec. 6 ending the fall semester, while a dual with New Jersey City University marking the first event of 2024. The Friday evening tilt with the Gothic Knights is the first meeting between the Hudson County rivals.

Stevens returns to Lycoming's Budd Whitehill duals on Jan. 12. The Ducks had an impressive showing last year, winning their first three duals by an average of 20 points before topping then-No. 21 Ithaca 28-12 in the semifinals before falling to top-10 Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the final. The prestigious event takes the Ducks to the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship on Jan. 20, where the Ducks will be in search of their ninth straight (and fourth in the MAC) conference title.

Another multi-dual event follows on Jan. 28 as the Ducks head to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for the John Reese duals before the calendar turns to February and a trip to Virginia. Duals with Washington & Lee (Feb. 2) and Roanoke (Feb. 3) highlight the trip to the Old Dominion State with the Southeast Futures Tournament (Feb. 3) also taking place. Formerly annual opponents in the Centennial Conference, the meeting with W&L marks the first since 2019. Stevens has won the last 12 meetings in the all-time series. The contest with Roanoke is believed to be the first between the squads.

Three road duals in a span of nine days lead the Ducks through the month of February. Consecutive rivalry matchups with TCNJ (Feb. 9) and NYU (Feb. 10) kick off the stretch before a meeting with York (Feb. 17) is the final dual of the year. Stevens has won the last two matchups with the Lions, five of the last seven with the Violets, and each of the last three with the Spartans.

Muhlenberg again serves as site host of the Mideast Futures Tournament on Feb. 25, marking the final event of the regular season. The Southeast Regional Championship kicks off five days later, where the Ducks will be in search of their fourth straight regional crown. Stevens captured five regional titles last season and sent seven to the national championship tournament.
