CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (November 1, 2023) – Senior Elle Maggio had a season high 15 kills and also tallied one block as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team defeated DeSales 3-1 (25-16, 25-14, 18-25, 25-23) Wednesday night to wrap up MAC Freedom play.

The Ducks (17-8, 7-0 MAC Freedom) wrap up regular season conference play undefeated for the second-straight year. Stevens has won four straight in the series over DeSales (11-16, 4-3 MAC Freedom). The Ducks had clinched the #1 seed in the MAC Freedom tournament last week.

The Rundown

• Stevens earned the victory with a .169 hitting percentage, while Stockton hit .019 percent.
• Leading 8-6 in the first set, the Ducks used a 6-0 run to open up a big lead over the Bulldogs. Juniors Parker Adkins and Cleo Shannon, along with sophomore Mallory Eder each had a kill on the run. DeSales would not get back within six points in the frame as the Ducks would take it 25-16.
• The second set started off great for the Ducks as they got out to 3-0 and 11-5 leads. Later up 17-12, the Ducks used another six point run to gain another big lead. Maggio and sophomore Vivian Lisboa each had a kill. DeSales could not recover in the frame as the Ducks took a commanding 2-0 lead.
• DeSales got back into the match as they took the third set. Up 10-9, the Bulldogs used a pivotal four point run to take a five point lead. Stevens clawed back and tied things up at 17. Later down 20-18, the Ducks gave up five straight points as they dropped the third set.
• The two teams played the fourth set close throughout. Stevens got out to a 13-7 lead, but DeSales would cut the deficit to three later as the score read 20-17. Stevens was up 23-18, but DeSales rattled off five points to tie it up. The Ducks scored the last two points, both kills by Maggio, to take the set and end the match.

• Senior Liz Patterson had seven kills and 20 digs.
• First-year Molly Harris had 16 assists and seven digs.
