HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 7, 2023) – No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis dropped zero games in a 9-0 sweep against MAC Freedom foe against Misericordia on Friday.

Junior Aashi Kulakarni, who was named the MAC Freedom Player of the Week on Monday, along with fellow classmate Andrew He joined first-year Max-William Kanz and sophomores Matt Luzzi, Olof Persson and Vivek Harinarayan in winning a pair of singles matches for the Ducks, who improved to 7-6 on the year and to 4-0 in the MAC Freedom. The victories extended the Ducks' conference winning streak to 20. 

Misericordia dropped to 1-6 on the year and to 0-2 in league play and have lost four straight matches. 

The Ducks began the day by winning all three doubles flights in convincing fashion against Misericordia. Kulakarni teamed with Persson to score an 8-0 win over Zach Hemond and Dalton Alexander at first doubles. Harinarayan and Kanz extended the lead with another 8-0 triumph over Peyton Argot and Karol Bialek on line two. He and sophomore Timothy Lau wrapped up the sweep with an 8-0 shutout of Hunter Wesolowski and Chase Cavanaugh on line three.

The Ducks continued their strong play in singles, winning all six flights in straight sets. All six of the wins were shutouts. Kulakarni defeated Hemond on line one, Harinarayan took down Alexander on the second line, He defeated Argot on line three, Kanz was victorious over Bialek on line four, Luzzi took down Wesolowski on the fifth line, and Persson finished off Cavanaugh on line six.
