Kreiser Named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 4 Third Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 30, 2023) – Junior Christian Kreiser from the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association(ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region 4 Third Team, the organization announced earlier today.

This is the first career All-Region award for the junior.

Kreiser was one of the best bats in the MAC Freedom all season long as he earned second team honors. He finished the season with a .348 batting average and a 1.079 OPS, which ranked seventh in the conference. The junior led the team in hits (48), RBI (36), and total bases (83). He finished second on the team in homers with six. The Palmyra, Pennsylvania native possessed the sixth best slugging percentage in the conference as well at .601.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.

Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
