NEW ORLEANS, La. (July 13, 2023) – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) unveiled its 2023 Academic Awards Thursday and the Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's track and field team each earned All-Academic Team honors after ranking among the top-20 grade-point averages in Division III.

The women led the way, ranking 13th in the country with a 3.720 cumulative grade-point average, while the men finished 18th with a 3.627. The Ducks were one of just nine programs in Division III to have both their men's and women's programs rank inside the top-20. A total of 334 programs (167 men's and 167 women's programs) were lauded by the USTFCCCA. The dual recognition marked the 12th straight season that the Ducks were recognized for their performance in competition and in the classroom by the national organization.

To be named an All-Academic Team, a team must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester or quarter.

Additionally, seniors Laura Mathews, Liana Meyer and Kristen Williams joined sophomore Caroline Tighe in earning All-Academic Athlete honors. All four student-athletes previously received All-Metro Region accolades in late May, with Mathews earning the honor in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, along with the 100-meter hurdles, while Meyer earned a pair of regional honors in the long jump and the heptathlon. Williams also collected regional honors in two events (100-meter hurdles and the triple jump), while Tighe closed out her second season on Castle Point with a Metro Region accolade in the high jump.

To earn the All-Academic Athlete honor, a student-athlete must have compiled at least a 3.3 GPA and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: must have finished the indoor or outdoor season among the top-50 individuals or Top-35 relay teams as listed on TFRRS or were accepted into the Indoor or Outdoor National Championship. A total of 1,245 Division III student-athletes, including 696 women, were recognized by the USTFCCCA.
