HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 13, 2023) - The Stevens Institute of Technology Athletic programs has no teams ranked in the latest round of Division III national rankings.
After starting 0-1-1, the men's soccer program, which was ranked preseason No. 3 in the country, has rebounded with two straight home wins, taking down Endicott 2-1 on Saturday and Babson by a score of 1-0 on Sunday. The team is currently receiving zero votes in the latest poll. The team has a ranked challenge next weekend against newly ranked No. 7 Rochester, who jumped into the poll after being unranked preseason.
Field hockey is not ranked despite a 3-0 start this season which includes a victory over then ranked No. 18 and now ranked No. 21 Rochester. The road win over the Yellowjackets was the first road win over a ranked team in program history. They look to make it two straight as they take on No. 8 Rowan on the road tonight.
Women's volleyball continues to receive zero votes as their record now stands at 4-2. The team fell to North Park but beat Chicago this past weekend in Chicago. Both of those teams were receiving votes at the time, but now just North Park is. Women's volleyball does not compete this week.
Women's soccer received zero votes in the latest poll and has started 0-3-1. The team did get a good result against then ranked No. 18 and now ranked No. 21 Calvin, tying them 1-1 on Friday night. The team hosts Scranton this weekend, who was ranked No. 16 in the preseason poll but is now unranked in the latest poll.
Men's and women's cross country was not ranked in their preseason poll. The next rankings come out September 19.
The national polls for fall sports consist of the United Soccer Coaches Association for both men's and women's soccer, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for field hockey, the American Volleyball Coaches Association for women's volleyball, and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for men's and women's cross country.
