DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (September 20, 2023) – Junior Parker Adkins led the Ducks with 14 kills, matching her career high, as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team defeated Delaware Valley 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-20) Wednesday evening.
The Ducks have now won two straight matches after losing two in a row. Stevens improves to 4-0 over Delaware Valley (0-0) all-time. Since moving to the MAC Freedom prior to the 2019 season, Stevens is 22-1 in league matches. The Ducks have won their last 12 conference openers.
The Rundown
- Stevens earned the victory with just a .316 hitting percentage, while Delaware Valley only hit .020 percent.
- The Aggies were the ones who got off to a good start, getting seven of the first ten points for an early 7-3 lead. With the Aggies still up 12-11, Stevens rattled off five straight points to open their largest lead of the set. They scored the last five points of the set unanswered to win 25-15.
- After splitting the first ten points in set number two, the Ducks scored seven straight points, highlighted by four kills from Adkins, to take a 12-5 lead. The Ducks maintained their distance and later up 19-11, they scored six of the last seven to take the second set. Senior Liz Patterson had two kills to help close it out.
- The Aggies hung with the Ducks early on in the third set as the two teams each took nine points out of the first 18. Still tied later on at 20-20, Stevens would resist the Aggie comeback by winning the final five points, helped on by two kills from junior Cleo Shannon.

- Senior Bailey Axelrad totaled 17 digs.
- Patterson recorded nine digs, four kills, and two assists.
- First-year Molly Harris led the team in assists with 17.
- Senior Meg Dion recorded three aces.
