READING, Pa. (September 30, 2023) - Graduate Lynda Farinella and senior Dani Hessels each scored as the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team defeated Albright 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks (7-2) find themselves on their longest winning streak of the season, now at four games. The wins have come against Drew, Eastern, Montclair State, and Albright (3-6), who has now lost twice to Stevens in as many years by an aggregate score of 6-2. With the win, Stevens is now 2-2 on the road. 

Farinella had two shots saved within 13 seconds of each other just under six minutes in as the Ducks to get out in front. With 50 seconds remaining in the quarter, Farinella finally found the back of the goal as her goal gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. First-year Sophia Cozza had a shot at the 23rd minute mark in the second quarter, with her shot being saved. Hessels cleaned things up and put the ball in the goal as the Ducks 2-0 lead. That score would remain at the break.

Stevens was all over Albright for the first few minutes of the third quarter but were unable to add to their lead. Albright responded with a period of possession for themselves, but were unable to do anything with it. Moving to the fourth quarter, Stevens was able to see out the game, marking their fourth shutout of the season, as they extended their winning streak to four with a 2-0 victory.
