Women's Swimming Topped by Rowan

Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team fell to in-state rival Rowan University 161-101 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks tallied a second place and a tie for third place in the meet-opening 200-medley relay. The group of Kai Wong, Eszter Kiss, Natalia Brunetti, and Delaney Klaus took second in 1:53.75 while Melissa Misurelli, Adriana Bertolotti, Gabby Tyer, and Gabby Sokolik tied for third in 1:56.3. First-year Dora Dvorkin notched a first-place mark in the 1,000-free, touching the wall in 11:11.49, besting the field by over nine seconds.

Kiss edged Kaitlyn Crouthamel in the 200-free by .29 seconds, claiming first in 2:01.7. Sophie Patz was second in the 100-backstroke (1:02.96) as Bertolotti was third in the 100-breaststroke (1:12.21). Hanna Matheson (2:15.04) and Tyer (2:22.19) were 2-3 in the 200-butterfly, with Klaus (25.8) and Wong (25.94) going 2-3 in the 50-free.

Wong nabbed a second-place time of 57.2 in the 100-freestyle as Patz notched a victory in the 200-backstroke with a mark of 2:13.63. Kiss (2:35.27) and Sokolik (2:39.06) took second and third in the 200-breaststroke. Dvorkin took second in the 500-free (5:29.57) as Brunetti (1:01.26) and Klaus (1:03.99) were second and third in the 100-fly. The foursome of Kylie Martinez, Kiss, Klaus, and Wong finished the day with a second-place time of 3:46.16, missing first by .25 seconds.

The Ducks return to the pool on October 25 as they head to Union, N.J., to face Kean University at 6 pm.
