Jordan Notches 100th Career Win As Men's Soccer Blanks Delaware Valley 4-0

Hoboken, N.J. – Senior Luca Campbell scored twice to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Delaware Valley University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Saturday evening.

Head Coach Dale Jordan registered his 100th career victory, becoming the third coach in men's soccer history to record 100 career wins. Campbell added an assist, and Emerico Vespucci tallied a goal and an assist for Stevens (6-3-3, 3-0-0 MAC Freedom). The contest was delayed by over two hours due to travel issues for Delaware Valley.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks peppered the Aggies with shots from the jump, attempting four shots in the first nine minutes. Terry Thompson and Martin Fields had tries off set pieces that just sailed wide. Stevens continued to apply the pressure, keeping the ball in the attacking third for most of the first half. In the 32nd minute, Brian Babovic's attempt was snared by goalkeeper Aiden Lane. The Ducks were awarded a corner lick in the 36th minute and were able to find the back of the net. Campbell served in a picture-perfect ball, and Max Rokshar headed the cross, making it 1-0.

After misfiring on their first shot of the second stanza, Stevens connected two of their next three to break the game open. In the 52nd minute, Ethan Hagen grabbed the ball on the right flank and passed to Vespucci. The senior hammered a shot from well outside the 18-yard box, beating the goalkeeper far post and doubling the lead.

Just 2:02 later, Campbell registered his first goal of the season. Vespucci sent a long pass to his classmate, and Campbell rifled the pass into the top right corner of the goal, stretching the lead to 3-0. Stevens continued to press on and capped off the scoring in the 67th minute. First-year Emerson Kekesi corralled a pass on the right side and sent a cross into the box. Campbell got his head to it and converted the header, extending the margin to four. Stevens attempted three additional shots late in the game but came away with the 4-0 victory.
