Kean Tops Women's Swimming

Union, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team was topped by Kean University 163-99 on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks opened the day with a third-place finish in the 200-medley relay, as Kai Wong, Adriana Bertolotti, Natalia Brunetti, and Gabby Sokolik clocked in at 1:53.69. The foursome missed second by .57 ticks. In the first individual event, Dora Dvorkin and Abigail Rosingana claimed the top two spots in the 1,000-free. Dvorkin was first at 11:13.57, with Rosingana clocking in at 11:32.12. Julia McKinley (2:06.35) and Sophia Patz (1:02.81) tallied third-place marks in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, respectively.

Eszter Kiss placed third in the 100-breast (1:10.47) as Hanna Matheson led the way in the 200-fly. Matheson touched the wall in 2:14.45, while Brunetti was behind her in 2:15.59. Delaney Klaus grabbed second in the 50-free (25.63) and 100-free (56.72), while Kylie Martinez was third in the 100-freestyle at 57.4. Patz tallied a victory in the 200-backstroke (2:13.25), winning by over three seconds.

Dvorkin tallied a second-place time in the 500-free (5:26.96) as Brunetti turned in a third-place time of 1:01.23 in the 100-fly. Matheson was second in the 200-IM (2:18.83) to close out the individual events, as Wong, Patz, Klaus, and Kiss took second in 3:47.96 in the 400-free relay.

UP NEXT
The Ducks will compete in the two-day NYU Invitational next weekend, getting underway Friday at 5 pm.
