Oneonta, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team picked up wins over Hartwick College and the University of Scranton on Saturday.
The Ducks (2-3) topped host Hartwick 188-100 and took down Scranton 165-131.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks opened the day with a win in the 200-medley relay, as
Kai Wong,
Eszter Kiss,
Delaney Klaus, and
Gabby Sokolik took first in 1:53.41.
Dora Dvorkin made it two wins as she touched the wall in 11:13.39 during the 1,000 free. Dvorkin won her event by over 13 seconds.
Kylie Martinez nabbed second place in the 200, touching the wall in 2:04.18.
Natalia Brunetti won the 100-back, notching a mark of 1:02.63. Kiss was clipped in the 100-breaststroke by 1.13 seconds, settling for a second-place time of 1:10.36.
Hanna Matheson tallied a victory in the 200-fly (2:13.77), as
Gabby Tyer was third in 2:17.63. Tyer missed second place by .40. Klaus (25.06) and Wong (25.7) went back-to-back, 1-2 in the 50-free, as Klaus (55.57) and Kiss were 1-2 in the 100-free.
Sophia Patz (2:16.05) and Wong (2:19.28) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-back as Dvorkin was third in the 200-breast (2:36.83). Martinez was second in the 500-free in 5:37.13, with Brunetti racking up another victory in the 100-fly. Brunetti was first in 1:00.97, and Tyer was third in 1:02.73.
Patz claimed victory in the 200-IM (2:18.42), with
Rachel Merrifield taking third in 2:23.41. The Ducks finished off the day with a first-place finish in the 400-free relay, as Wong, Klaus, Martinez, and Kiss clocked in at 3:46.7.
