Women's Swimming Continues To Lead TCNJ Invitational

Ewing, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team leads The College of New Jersey Invitational after two days.

The Ducks, who have totaled 826.5 points, are ahead of TCNJ (588), Cortland (466), USMMA (234.5), New Paltz (210), Montclair State (36), and West Chester (35).

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks opened the day with a first-place finish in the 200-medley relay. Kai Wong, Adrianna Bertolotti, Natalia Brunetti, and Delaney Klaus clocked in at 1:47.81. The group of Sophia Patz, Emery Fitzharris, Gabby Tyer, and Kylie Martinez took fourth in 1:53.38. Olivia Shusta was fifth in the 400-IM in 4:58.7 as Brunetti won the 100-fly with the Ducks in seven of the top eight spots. Brunetti won in 57.7 as Klaus (57.99), Tyer (1:00.12), Wong (1:01.13), Hanna Matheson (1:01.23), Ashley Settle (1:01.78), and Paige Bleckley (1:01.94) all registered top-eight marks.

Martinez took third in the 200-free (1:59.54), with Julia McKinley (2:01.22) and Gabby Sokolik (2:03.4) taking fifth and eighth, respectively. Abigail Rosingana (2:04.03) and Megan Koek (2:10.19) posted times in the "B" final of the 200-free. Eszter Kiss won the 100-breastroke (1:06.9) as Bertolotti (1:07.78), Fitzharris (1:08.77), Settle (1:09.13) and Dora Dvorkin (1:10.04) placed in the top-eight.

Wong (59.78) clipped Brunetti (1:00.22) to win the 100-back, with Patz (1:01.24), Rachel Merrifield (1:01.93), and Melissa Misurelli (1:02.8) finishing in the top seven. Stevens closed out the day with the 800-free relay, as Klaus, Kiss, Julia McKinley, and Martinez won in 7:59.41. Fitzharris, Tyer, Rosingana, and Sokolik placed fourth, clocking in at 8:14.91.

Stevens closes out the TCNJ Invitational tomorrow, with the prelims getting underway at 9 am and the finals beginning at 1 pm.
