Hagen, Thompson Named To All-Region Team

Hoboken, N.J. – Junior Ethan Hagen and senior Terry Thompson of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team on Tuesday.

Hagen was tabbed to the First Team as Thompson gained Second Team honors.

The junior defender Hagen started 19 games and was named to the MAC Freedom Second Team. He collected a pair of assists while teaming with Thompson on the backline to limit opponents to just 13 goals. Hagen registered an assist on the opening goal in the Ducks' 2-1 win over FDU-Florham before posting a helper on Omar Martinez's marker in the 80th minute in the Stevens' 3-1 MAC Freedom Semifinal victory over Lebanon Valley.

A First Team All-MAC Freedom choice, Thompson logged more minutes on the pitch than any other field player for the Ducks in MAC Freedom play, playing the full 90 in six of seven contests. His backline efforts helped Stevens post three clean sheets in conference action, allowing just four goals total. The defender contributed four goals and an assist on the year, scoring twice in postseason play. His header in the 52nd minute gave Stevens a 2-1 lead in the MAC Freedom Championship Game, establishing the final margin. The biggest goal of his career came in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, as he poked in a loose ball with 30 seconds remaining in the second half to help Stevens force overtime against Amherst.
