NEWTOWN, Pa. (February 7, 2024) – Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross country senior Jake Aylmer was named to the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Today's announcement recognizes 10 student-athletes from both men's and women's cross country along with 23 football student-athletes from programs across both the MAC Freedom and the MAC Commonwealth. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award and nominated student-athletes are voted on by the athletic communications offices from the conference's 16 member institutions.
After earning second-team All-Conference recognition one season ago, Aylmer used a 5:36.82 mile pace to complete the eight-kilometer course in 27:24.5, under unseasonably warm conditions, to lead the Ducks' 12-runner contingent this year. The quantitative finance major was one of three Ducks to land on an all-conference team and marked the first, first-team selection since the Ducks joined the MAC. He finished the fall semester with an impressive 4.0 GPA.
The Academic All-Conference recognition is the first for Aylmer and is the second for the cross country program.
