Men's Tennis Picks Up 8-1 Victory Over Kalamazoo

Three Ducks went 2-0 on the day.

EDGEWATER, N.J. (March 27, 2024) – Junior Vivek Harinarayan, junior Sebastian Wroe, and sophomore Max-William Kanz each picked up two wins as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team defeated Kalamazoo 8-1 Wednesday afternoon at the Edgewater Tennis Center.

Stevens went up 3-0 quickly as they swept the doubles matches. Kanz and first-year Andhare Samvid blanked their opponents on line two, while Stevens won the other two matches by at least three.

On the singles side, Harinarayan won a long match on the first line to secure his second win of the day. The first set he lost 7-5, but he rebounded with a 7-6 (7-4) tiebreak win in set two, and then took the third set tiebreaker 10-8. The Ducks would win handedly in two sets in four out of the other five singles matches, including a 6-0, 6-0 result from first-year Tristian Wroe on the sixth line.

With the win, Stevens improves to 3-4 and has now won two-straight matches. This was the first-ever matchup between Kalamazoo and Stevens. The Hornets fell to 1-6 with the loss.
