HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 9, 2024) – Graduate student Percy Bickford produced 16 kills in game one, while junior Koby Sherman dropped 14 kills in game two, as the No. 2 Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball beat both Stevenson 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 25-12) and Lasell 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-19) Saturday in a tri-match inside Canavan Arena.
Graduate student Louden Moran recorded 32 assists on the day, while junior Sebastian Huyke added 16. Junior Jesse Knuckles Moran led the Ducks with eight digs in game one. First-year Joshua Levandoske and senior Phu-Quy Ho each had five in game two..
Stevens allowed Stevenson to hit just .157 in the game. Lasell was only able to .159. The Ducks hit just .280 in game one, but hit an impressive .463 in game two.
Stevens (22-1, 2-0 MAC) sees their winning streak rise to 19 games with the victories this afternoon. Stevens improves to 12-1 all-time versus Stevenson, and 5-0 all-time versus Lasell.
The Rundown (Stevenson)
	- Despite winning the first three points to start the match, Stevenson scored nine of the next 10 to take a 9-4 lead. The Ducks followed that with four straight, as first-year Ryan Schmid recorded two kills and first-year Alex Olcott tallied an ace. From there, neither team went on more than a 2-0 run as the teams played each other close. Down 18-15, Bickford tallied two kills for Stevens in part of a mini 3-1 spurt. Schmid also recorded an ace on the run. In the end, the Mustangs pulled away from the Ducks, taking set one 25-21.
- After winning the first set, Stevenson took a 6-2 lead in the second. Stevens then scored the next three, as sophomore Tyler Hoke and Bickford recorded back-to-back kills, and Olcott recorded another ace. Later trailing 10-7, the Ducks rattled off nine of the next nine to surge into the lead. Bickford, Moran and graduate student Nathan Lancia each had kills. From there, Stevens maintained control and took the second set 25-16.
- Once again, the Mustangs took an early lead, as they won 10 of the first 15 points. Stevenson maintained the lead for the most of the set, until the Ducks used 4-0 run to propel themselves into an 19-18 lead. Sherman had a kill for the Ducks. Despite the Mustangs scoring five of the next six, Stevens closed the set out by winning the final five points to take the set 25-23. Bickford and Moran combined four three kills to go up 2-1.
- Stevens left nothing up to chance as they blew out the Mustangs in the final set. The Ducks first three points came from a Lancia Kill, a Moran ace, and then a Sherman kill. Leading 4-3, the Ducks rattled off the next five points, four of which coming off of Bickford and graduate student Connor Feulner kills, to give the Ducks a 9-3 lead. The home side led 16-13 before closing the match on a 9-0 run to seal the victory.
The Rundown (Lasell)
	- Things got easier for the Ducks as they handled Lasell. The Ducks started out getting seven of the first 11 points to take the early lead. Later up 13-11, the Ducks put up four in a row highlighted by a kill from Sherman, to go up six. Senior Carver Weirick and first-year Jefferson Overheu added kills in the set as the Ducks went on to take the first.
- Stevens started out better through 11 points in the second as they took eight of them. With a 10-6 lead, Moran had two aces in part of a 4-0 run. The Schmitt Schmid Schmidt trio went to work from there, as the three combined four kills down the stretch to give Stevens a 2-0 lead.
- Stevens scored the first four of the third as Levandoske and Sherman produced three kills. They would later lead 8-2, with Sherman adding two more kills. Levandoske would add another kill later on as the Ducks were up 15-6. Lasell would go on a late run, but it wouldn't be enough as the Ducks secured another sweep.
Top Performers
	- Sherman finished the Lasell match with a hitting percentage of .684 on 19 attacks. He also had four digs and three blocks in that match.
- Lancia had nine kills against Stevenson.
- Feulner had eight kills against Stevenson.
- First-year Esteban Schmitt had four blocks against Lasell.
- The Ducks totaled 12 aces on the day.
- 10 Ducks recorded a kill against Lasell.
