BAYONNE, N.J. (April 17, 2024) – Five players earned a singles victory for the Ducks as the No. 50 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team defeated FDU-Florham 5-0 Tuesday afternoon in a MAC Freedom match. The match was halted early because of rain.
Because of the projected rainfall, the teams played singles first instead of doubles. Stevens lost just five games in the five singles matches that completed. First-year Johnny Haase completely swept his opponent on the sixth line, as he won 6-0, 6-0.
Stevens (8-5) has now won four-straight matches. The Ducks have swept all of their MAC Freedom opponents this season. Since joining the MAC Freedom, Stevens has never lost a regular season match. With the win, Stevens improves to 10-1 all-time against the Devils. FDU-Florham drops to 1-8 and 0-3 in MAC Freedom play with the loss.
