EWING, N.J. (April 21, 2024) – Junior Vivek Harinarayan won both of his matches for the Ducks but it wasn't enough as the No. 42 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team lost to No. 22 TCNJ 6-3 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match.
For the first time in a while, the Ducks found themselves trailing after the doubles matches. Stevens lost the matches on the first and third lines, but Harinarayan and senior Aashi Kulakarni earned a 8-2 win on line two as they trailed 2-1 after doubles.
Needing to make a comeback, Stevens won just two singles matches as they faltered at the ranked Lions. Harinarayan picked up a second line win. He won in two sets, but won a first-set tiebreak to propel him to the win. Senior Andrew He then won a three-set thriller on the fourth line for the Ducks.
Stevens (9-6) see their five-match winning streak come to an end. The Ducks went 1-6 against ranked opponents this season. Stevens finishes non-conference play 5-6. With the loss, Stevens is now 8-6 against the Lions all-time. TCNJ improved to 14-1 with the win.
