BAYONNE, N.J. (April 23, 2024) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team wrapped up the number one seed in the MAC Freedom playoffs after defeating Arcadia 9-0 Tuesday afternoon in a MAC Freedom match. Stevens lost just 13 games total in the match.
The Ducks took an early 3-0 lead after the doubles matches. The Ducks dropped just one game across the five matches. Sophomore Max-William Kanz and first-year Johnny Haase blanked their opponents on the second line, winning 8-0. The Wroe brothers played their first-ever doubles match together, securing a win on line three.
Already with a big lead, Stevens took care of business on the singles side as they took all six of the matches. Junior Sebastian Wroe handled his opposition on the fourth line as he won 6-0, 6-0. Kanz, Haase, and first-year Tristian Wroe each dropped just one game.
With the win, Stevens improves to 10-6 and 5-0 in MAC Freedom play. The Ducks have been the #1 seed every year since joining the conference. Also since joining the MAC Freedom, Stevens has never lost a regular season match. With the win, Stevens improves to 4-0 all-time against the Knights, winning each match 9-0. Arcadia drops to 8-5 and 2-3 in MAC Freedom play with the loss.
