HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 26, 2024) – Senior Christian Kreiser recorded two hits and picked up an RBI as the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team defeated No. 16/21 Misericordia 4-3 Friday afternoon in a MAC Freedom contest.

Sophomore Erik Sibbach (9-2) picked up the win. He leads the conference in wins this season. He pitched seven innings and gave up three runs on four hits. He struck out two batters. Junior Joe Gonzalez (2) earned the save, pitching two innings and giving up no hits.

The Ducks (22-12, 12-7 MAC Freedom) earned a huge conference win with the playoffs fastly approaching. With two wins tomorrow, Stevens can match their MAC Freedom win total from last season. Despite the win, Stevens will be on the road in the MAC Freedom semifinals due to the Arcadia win. The Ducks will be either the #3 or #4 seed and will visit either the Cougars or the Knights.

With the win, Stevens improves to 9-14 all-time against the Cougars. The Ducks have now won the last two meetings after dropping the previous four. Misericordia lost just their second MAC Freedom game of the year, as they now sit at 17-2 in conference and 27-9 overall.

Two Misericordia errors prolonged the inning, as the Ducks added another to make it 3-0.
  • The Cougars scored one in the top of the fourth to make it a 3-1 game.
  • Junior Evan Pravato recorded his first hit of the season in the fifth inning. He was later brought home by an RBI-double from Kreiser as the Ducks went up 4-1.
  • Misericordia added two in the sixth to make it a 4-3 game.
