BAYONNE, N.J. (May 1, 2024) – Junior Olof Persson and first-year Johnny Haase each recorded two wins as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team took down #4 FDU-Florham 5-0 Wednesday afternoon in the MAC Freedom semifinals.

The Ducks took an early 3-0 lead after the doubles matches to take momentum in the contest. Haase and senior Andre He blanked their opponents on the third line, winning 8-0. Persson and junior Vivek Harinarayan picked up an 8-1 victory on the first line, while sophomore Max-William Kanz and first-year Samvid Andhare won 8-1 on the second line.

Already with a big lead, Stevens needed just two wins on the singles side, which they secured right away. Persson and Haase each swept their respective opponents 6-0, 6-0. Stevens led in all of the four singles matches that were declared unfinished.

The victory improves the Ducks' record to 12-6. The Ducks have still yet to drop a conference match since joining the MAC Freedom. Stevens improved to 6-1 in home matches with the win and will host the championship game this Saturday. FDU-Florham drop to 4-12 with the loss.
