NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (May 24, 2024) – Sophomores Stefanie Sellitto and Lauren Sullivan of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Teams, the organization announced Friday.
Both Sellitto and Sullivan were named to the third team. It is the first time since 2011 that the Ducks have had at least two All-American selections. 57 total student-athletes were recognized across 29 institutions.
Sellitto earns her first All-American selection after previously being First Team All-Region and being named the MAC Freedom's Midfielder of the Year. The MAC Freedom Championship MVP has stuffed the stat sheet for the Ducks this year, as she scored a team-high 67 goals while adding 10. She had a career-high nine goals and nine points in a game against Kean back on February 28. On the defensive end, Sellitto picked up a team-high 43 ground balls and caused a team-high 27 turnovers. She controlled 165 draws, which is 17th in the nation. The sophomore tallied four goals across the two NCAA Tournament games.
After being named the MAC Freedom Defender of the Year for the second consecutive season, Sullivan adds to her awards as she earns her first All-American selection after picking up her second First Team All-Region selection in as many years last week. She has helped anchor a defense that has conceded just 6.81 goals per game, which ranks sixth nationally amongst all Division III schools. The team conceded just 20 goals in their seven conference games for an average of just 2.86. She caused 22 turnovers which was third best on the team. The sophomore also corralled 29 ground balls, which was third amongst all of the Ducks.
