NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (July 24, 2024) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team was again recognized for its performance in the classroom Wednesday, when the Ducks were named an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
Additionally, seven student-athletes: graduate students Josie Cook and Zoe Cook, along with seniors Emily Leiby and Carly Walker, and juniors Alison Lax and Emily Smart, and Anna Velardi, were each named to the IWLCA's Division III Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, a team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team grade-point average for the academic year. Stevens posted a team GPA for the 2022-23 academic year of 3.745. To earn a spot on the organization's Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
The Ducks received the Academic Honor Squad distinction for the 20th time in program history. The IWLCA lauded 324 teams across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA.
