Men's Golf Competes At DIII Northeast Elite

Williamsport, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology golf team competed at the two-day DIII Northeast Elite Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Over the two days, Stevens shot a 617. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Maxime Debets and Evan Murphy were Stevens top finisher, tying for 44th with a +7, 149. On Saturday, Debets shot a +5 but had two birdies on both the front and back nines. On holes 4-6 Saturday, he was -2. On Sunday, he racked up three birdies and shot even on the back-nine. Debets played his final six holes at two-under.

Murphy finished Saturday at +2, but was one-under on the back nine. He birdied the par-3 15th and closed 
out the round with a four on the par-5 18th. Murphy carded a -1 through the first nine on Sunday including consecutive birdies on six and seven. Ben Slicker was tied 85th, notching a +14, 156. He was one over through nine yesterday and trimmed two strokes off his back nine score today. 

Eduardo Terlaje (+21) and Brock Dickson (+25) 
also competed for the Ducks. Terlaje opened Saturday's round with a birdie on the first hole and added a pair on the back nine. Dickson notched a birdie each day, hitting a three on the par-4 fifth on Saturday and opening Sunday with a birdie on the opening hole.

UP NEXT
The Ducks return to competition on Wednesday to play in the Drew Birdie Bash at the Flanders Valley Golf Course.
