Women's Swimming Knocked Off By Salisbury

Salisbury, Md. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team was topped by Salisbury University 226-72 on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The foursome of Kai Wong, Adriana Bertolotti, Natalia Brunetti, and Delaney Klaus opened the day with a third-place time of 2:02.75, with Rachel Merrifield, Emery Fitzharris, Paige Bleckley, and Kylie Martinez behind them in 2:09.63. Eszter Kiss gave Stevens their first win of the day as she took first in the 200-freestyle. Kiss clocked in at 2:10.29, as her Salisbury opponent was a mere .09 ticks behind.
 
Brunetti (2:30.41) and Merrifield (2:30.69) went 3-4 in the 200-backstroke, with Bertolotti taking third in the 100-breaststroke in 1:17.86. Hanna Matheson (2:27.38), Melissa Misurelli (2:31.83), and Bleckley (2:35.05) placed 4-5-6 in the 200-butterfly, as Klaus (27.89) and Wong (28.44) took third and fourth in the 50-freestyle. Bertolotti, Brunetti, Wong, and Klaus were second in the 200-free relay (1:53.55), as Bleckley, Julia McKinley, Gabby Sokolik, and Kiss were third in 1:54.93.
 
Sophie Patz notched a third-place time of 1:08.39 in the 100-backstroke, with Merrifield taking fifth in 1:10.77. Ashley Settle (2:52.01) and Kiss (2:55) scored points in the 200-breaststroke, as did Klaus (1:01.27) and Bertolotti (1:03.53) in the 100-free. Brunetti (1:07.28) and Bleckley (1:08.35) went back-to-back in the 100-fly, as Kiss (2:30.93) and Patz (2:33.52) took second and third in the 200-IM.
 
The quartet of Brunetti, Martinez, Kiss, and Wong placed second in 4:11.87 in the 400-meter relay, as McKinely, Sokolik, Misurelli, and Patz were third in 4:15.28. Dora Dvorkin finished third in the 1,500 (18:33.77), with Abigail Rosingana (18:55.24) and Olivia Shusta (19.21.75) behind her to close out the day.
 
UP NEXT
The Ducks close out the regular season next Saturday as they host Ursinus College at noon inside the DeBaun Aquatic Center.
