HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology softball team announced its 2025 competition schedule Wednesday. Beginning February 16, the Ducks will play 38 games (16 doubleheaders), including 14 against teams that participated in the 2024 NCAA D-III Softball Championship and 12 games (six doubleheaders) at Weehawken Waterfront Park, where the Ducks are 73-47 under ninth-year head coach
Emily Kaczmarek.
Just as they kicked off 2024, the Ducks commence the 2o25 campaign in Los Angeles against Occidental. After a season-long 12-day gap between games, the Ducks head down to Georgia for the Leadoff Classic February 28-March 2. Stevens will face St. John Fisher and Huntingdon on February 28, then DePauw and Gettysburg on March 1; all four of those teams made last year's NCAA D-III Championship. The Peach State slate concludes with the University of Chicago and LaGrange on March 2.
March 12 marks the team's home opener against Hunter, with another home twinbill against reigning MAC Freedom regular season and tournament champion Lebanon Valley in the conference opener scheduled for three days later. The team's first Garden State showdown of the season will take place March 17 against Kean before another conference doubleheader on the road against King's March 22. 2024 NCAA Championship participant MIT makes the trip to Weehawken March 24 before a pair of in-state trips to Drew (March 26) and FDU-Florham (March 29).
April begins with NYU at home on the first and Arcadia on the road April 5. Following another in-state affair with 2024 NCAA Championship participant Ramapo April 9, the team returns to MAC Freedom action on the 12
th against DeSales. After an April 15 trip to two-time reigning CUNYAC champion John Jay, the Red and Gray host conference foe Delaware Valley in the final home series of the year. The regular season wraps with road trips to two-time reigning Skyline Conference champion Manhattanville on April 26 and Misericordia on April 29.
Postseason play begins with the conference tournament May 1 through May 3, with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the D-III Championship, scheduled to begin with Regionals action on May 15.
