Softball's Mitloff Tabbed Academic All-MAC

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Rising sophomore Allison Mitloff of the Stevens Institute of Technology softball team was named Academic All-MAC by the Middle Atlantic Conference office Tuesday, the latest postseason honor following a spectacular first-year campaign.

The Academic All-MAC teams are based off semester grade-point averages (GPA) for the semester of their championship season. The minimum GPA required is a 3.20, and the student-athlete must remain an eligible member of the team through the conclusion of the season. Voting for this award is based on 50% academic excellence and 50% athletic prowess.

Mitloff began her collegiate career with just two hits in her first 12 at-bats, but finished with 51 in her final 99, ending the season with a program record for highest batting average by a first-year (.477), a mark that also led the conference. In MAC Freedom play, Mitloff hit safely in all 12 conference games, finishing with an astounding .568 average and an OPS over 1.250.

The Los Altos, Calif. native earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region First Team, All-MAC Freedom First Team, and MAC Freedom co-Rookie of the Year selection for her on-field efforts.
