ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the fourth straight year, the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was selected in the top three of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom preseason coaches' poll, unveiled on Tuesday by the league office. The poll was conducted among the conference's eight head coaches.
Stevens finished in a tie for third with DeSales, both teams earning 35 points; Arcadia took second with 39 points and reigning national champion Misericordia earned all seven first place votes for 49 points; those four teams were the participants in last season MAC Freedom Tournament, won by top-seeded Misericordia.

Stevens went 24-16 with a 12-9 mark in conference play one season ago, the team's fourth straight (full) season over .500 and sixth straight (full) season over .500 in conference play.
Erik Sibbach took conference Pitcher of the Year honors as a sophomore last season, one of seven Ducks to earn All-MAC Freedom recognition, including fellow hurlers
Joe Gonzalez,
David Finch, and
Jacob Buurman, as well as
Ben Tobio,
Michael Reyes, and
Eli Somers. Sibbach, Gonzalez, Finch, Buurman, and Somers all return this season for 14
th-year head coach
Kristaps Aldins.
In addition to his conference recognition, Sibbach earned Third Team All-American recognition from D3baseball.com and Second Team All-American honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings last season; he was also named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Team earlier this month.
