GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's cross-country team finished 7
th in the Open Race and 16
th in the Championship Race at the Rowan Border Battle Saturday afternoon.
The Ducks tabulated 211 points in the Open Race, placing all five scorers in the top 65 and all seven racers in the top 70 out of 215 competitors total; the Penn State Club team took the top spot with all five scorers in the Top 10, finishing with 31 points, 53 points clear of runner-up Messiah. In the Championship Race, the Ducks finished with 489 points; Carnegie Mellon won the race with 67 points, 77 points clear of runner up Swarthmore.
HOW IT HAPPENED – OPEN RACE
Matt Hodorowski was the first Duck to cross the finish line, running 28:05.4 for 37
th place.
William Parker was right on his heels, crossing in 28:09.4 for 39
th.
Cillian Griffin clocked 28:32.0 for 53
rd place,
James Adamo ran 28:40.6 for 60
th place, and
Nelson VanMaaren was the final point-scorer for Stevens, finishing in 85
th in 29:30.4.

HOW IT HAPPENED – CHAMPIONSHIP RACE
Mick Barbi and
Danny Jutras were the top two finishers for Stevens, crossing less than a second apart, with Barbi running 26:17.9 for 83
rd and Jutras clocking 26:18.4 for 85
th;
Jacob Nolan was the next Duck to finish, taking 109
th with a time of 26:34.0. Much like Barbi and Jutras did,
Caleb Stephen and
Ryan Paradine crossed the line nearly in tandem, with Stephen taking 124
th in 26:46.8 and Paradine taking 125
th in 26:47.5, rounding out the scoring runners for the team.
