Hoboken, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team fell to Montclair State University 144-118 in non-conference action on Friday evening.
Stevens was led by
Delaney Klaus, who won two individual events and anchored the Ducks' top relay. Klaus opened her meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle in 2:01.27 and later surged to the wall first in the 100 butterfly at 59.88. She also anchored Stevens' winning 400 freestyle relay, teaming with
Gabby Sokolik,
Samantha Gallo, and
Eszter Kiss to post 3:41.67.
Kiss added two impressive victories of her own, leading the field in both the 100 backstroke (1:00.68) and the 500 freestyle (5:19.33). She also contributed a key third leg on the winning relay.
Dora Dvorkin controlled the 1000 freestyle from the start, touching first in 11:10.09, and later added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke at 2:35.34. Stevens also earned a win in the 200 butterfly, where
Hanna Matheson pulled away late to finish in 2:13.89.
Additional strong swims included Gallo placing fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:04.70),
Paige Bleckley taking fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:06.58), and the duo of
Adriana Bertolotti and
Ashley Settle finishing second and third in the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.79 and 1:11.96.
Gabby Tyer added a fourth-place performance in the 500 freestyle with a 5:37.80, and the Ducks closed the meet with a third-place result from in the 400-freestyle rely by
Julia McKinley,
Megan Koek,
Emery Fitzharris, and
Ashley Settle in 3:58.44.
