Women's Basketball Puts On Dominant Team Performance in 101-36 Win Over Medgar Evers

Boston, Mass. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team got scoring contributions from nearly every player on the roster in a mammoth 101-36 win over Medgar Evers on Sunday afternoon during the second and final day of the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament.

All 17 Ducks played at least five minutes, 10 scored at least six points, nine handed out at least two assists, seven grabbed at least three rebounds, and six recorded at least two steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Neither team got on the board until just past two minutes in, when Stevens (3-1) embarked on a 15-0 run that spanned less than 2:30; Dorothy Loffredo bookended the run and had nine of the 15, Olivia Schubiger had four, and Leyla Castro added the remaining two. Baskets were traded back and forth over the following minute and change before another 15-2 Stevens run put the Ducks up 34-8 at the end of the quarter; Maya Abramson, Ceejay Thomas, and Fiona O'Boyle all had four points for Stevens in the first 10 minutes.

Audrey Kehoe began the second quarter with a solo 6-0 run, putting the Ducks up 40-8. Maja Skopic (twice), Camryn Kinne, Trisha Nair, Sugar Williams, and Katherine Bogutsky all added on for the Ducks who opened a 55-12 lead with three minutes until the half. Abramson and O'Boyle added three more layups between them and Thomas knocked down her first three on just her second attempt of the season, giving the Ducks a 50-point lead, 64-14, heading to the locker room.

Grace Love knocked down her first two three-point attempts of the second half, with Abramson adding a three of her own (her first of the year), pushing the lead to 75-19. The Ducks did not score for more than four minutes but still managed to carry an 82-28 lead to the fourth, thanks to layups from Love and Morgan Gentilucci, and a Bogutsky three-pointer.

Love added two more three-pointers early in the fourth, with baskets by Emily Marinelli and Gentilucci pushing the lead above 60, 93-32. Nair made a layup before Gentilucci and Kinne added a late three-pointer each, putting the Ducks over the century mark.
