Colorado Springs, Colo. – Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey student-athletes
Gabi Moroney and
Lily Wierzbicki were each named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Team, as revealed by the organization Thursday. Since 2023, the Senior Teams have replaced the All-Star Game, the honor celebrating seniors' competitive excellence, leadership, and lasting influence within their programs.
Both Moroney and Wierzbicki were named to the All-MAC Freedom First Team last week, two days after leading the Ducks to a third straight conference championship.
Moroney finished 2025 with 17 goals, tied for fourth-most in a season in Stevens history, and finished the year with 102 points, just the fifth player in program history over the century mark. The Granby, Mass. native scored five goals in the team's first five games, added seven more in MAC Freedom play, then capped her year with a goal against Amherst tin the NCAA Tournament that put the Ducks in front early. Moroney finished her Stevens career with 33 goals and 75 points over her final 42 games after notching just 11 goals in 40 games through the end of her sophomore season.
Wierzbicki, who earned a third career all-conference honor last week, started all 18 regular season affairs and finished with a goals-against average under 1.00 (0.87) and a save percentage of 0.798; the goals-against average dropped as low as 0.59 during the year.. Wierzbicki teamed with two all-conference defenders including the league's Defensive Player of the Year to form a stout back line, posting four shutouts, and keeping her goals=against average under 1.00 over the final eight games of the season.
A total of 60 student-athletes representing 45 Division III institutions earned their way onto this year's Senior Team. Selections are based on nominations submitted by NFHCA member coaches and reviewed by committees composed entirely of NFHCA coach members.
