Ewing, N.J. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team added an additional three wins on the second day of the TCNJ Invitational, after picking up four yesterday.
The Ducks have collected 704 points through two days, holding second-place TCNJ (693.5) by 10.5 points. Cortland is third with 555 points, with Merchant Marine fourth with 321.5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stevens opened the night with a win in the 200 medley relay, as
Natalia Brunetti,
Adriana Bertolotti,
Delaney Klaus, and
Eszter Kiss combined for a 1:48.86 to capture the A final. The B relay of
Paige Bleckley,
Emery Fitzharris,
Ashley Settle, and
Gabby Sokolik added a fourth-place finish in 1:52.35, with the C and D relays also competing.
The Ducks then surged through the 400 IM, taking three of the top six times in the A final.
Emery Fitzharris earned the victory in 4:43.70, while
Gabby Tyer placed third in 4:48.60. Gabs Sokolik (4:53.01) finished fifth and
Dora Dvorkin (4:54.88) took sixth, as Stevens claimed four A-final scoring spots. In the B final, Allie Halverson (5:18.12) added additional points. In the 100 butterfly, Stevens placed four swimmers in the A final, led by Klaus, who earned the win in 57.11.
Hanna Matheson (1:01.30) placed fifth, first-year
Samantha Gallo (1:00.75) was seventh, and Settle (1:01.69) finished eighth.
Anjali Gupta added a B-final swim of 1:07.69.
Stevens continued its momentum in the 200 freestyle, where Kiss delivered another victory, stopping the clock in 1:53.65 to win the A final.
Julia McKinley placed sixth in 2:01.97, and
Megan Koek added a ninth-place overall finish after winning the B final in 2:02.22. In the 100 breaststroke, Bertolotti led the Ducks with a third-place 1:09.68 in the A final, followed closely by Settle in fourth at 1:09.09. Gupta finished 12th overall in 1:16.88 from the B final. The 100 backstroke featured three Stevens A-finalists. Bleckley placed third in 1:02.66,
Abigail Rosingana followed in fourth at 1:04.03, and
Sydney Lanager finished seventh in 1:04.73.
The session ended with the 800 freestyle relay, where the B team of Sokolik, Gallo, Fitzharris, and Matheson secured second in 8:17.67, while the C relay team of Dvorkin, Rosingana, Brunetti, and Tyer finished fourth overall in 8:21.58.
