New York, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team began the 2025 NYU Invitational with a strong performance on Friday night.
After the first day of competition, Stevens stood second in the team standings with 99 points, trailing NYU (172) and ahead of Drew (48). The Ducks return to the pool Saturday morning for the final day of the NYU Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Eszter Kiss led Stevens with a fourth-place finish in the 500 freestyle, clocking 5:17.19 for the Ducks' top individual result of the session. She was followed closely by teammates
Dora Dvorkin, who placed sixth in 5:31.72, and
Gabby Tyer in seventh at 5:33.35. Abby Rosingana rounded out the top eight with a time of 5:37.85, as all four Ducks scored in the event's top half.
In the 50 freestyle,
Delaney Klaus turned in another strong sprint performance, finishing seventh overall with a 25.12.
Adriana Bertolotti (26.18),
Samantha Gallo (26.34), and
Paige Bleckley (26.49) all finished within the top-15 to provide additional team depth.
Hanna Matheson paced the Ducks in the 200 individual medley with a 12th-place effort of 2:19.65, while
Natalia Brunetti (2:24.80) and
Ashley Settle (2:26.66) finished 14th and 16th, respectively.
Sydney Lanager completed Stevens' scoring in 18th at 2:36.47.
Stevens opened the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay, as
Ashley Settle,
Natalia Brunetti,
Samantha Gallo, and
Adriana Bertolotti combined for a 1:45.15. The "B" relay of
Megan Koek, Matheson,
Julia McKinley, and Bleckley finished seventh in 1:47.66, while the "C" relay of
Gabby Sokolik,
Hailey Gillett, Allie Halverson, and
Sydney Lanager placed eighth in 1:50.35. The Ducks closed the night with a seventh-place effort in the 400 medley relay, with Kiss, Bertolotti, Brunetti, and Klaus combining for a 4:10.54. The "C" relay of McKinley, Dvorkin, Tyer, and Sokolik finished ninth (4:19.38), while the "B" relay of Bleckley, Fitzharris, Settle, and Koek took 10th (4:22.10).
