Hoboken, N.J. – Junior
Lauren Flynn and senior
Gabi Moroney were named All-Americans by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday.
Flynn earned First Team honors, while Moroney collected Second Team laurels. They are the eighth and ninth student-athletes in program history to receive All-American recognition from the NFHCA, and the first since Aryana Muscara in 2023. Additionally, it marks just the second time in program history that multiple student-athletes have earned All-American honors in the same season, as Hillary Paul and Allison Shields garnered Second and Third Team accolades in 2008.
Flynn, who was tabbed the Region IV Player of the Year, adds to an impressive list of accolades that includes NFHCA First Team All-Region honors, MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year, and All-MAC Freedom First Team recognition.
A native of Hillsborough, N.J., Flynn made her presence felt on both ends of the field throughout the season. She started all 21 games and followed a two-assist performance in a win over No. 9 Rowan with a pair of defensive saves, before adding another assist in a victory over Swarthmore three days later. Flynn etched her name into the program record book with a three-assist outing against William Paterson, tying the team's single-game record.
In postseason play, Flynn scored in Stevens' MAC Freedom Semifinal victory over Lebanon Valley and added an assist in the team's NCAA Tournament matchup against Amherst. Defensively, she also helped the Ducks post a shutout win over Misericordia in the MAC Freedom Championship contest.
Moroney, a First Team All-Region IV and All-MAC Freedom selection, led the Stevens offense with 17 goals and 38 points, including four game-winning tallies. The senior opened the season with five goals over a four-game stretch, highlighted by a two-goal performance against then-No. 9 Rowan.
She registered seven points (three goals, one assist) in a 10-0 rout of Eastern on September 20 before adding her second three-goal performance of the season against King's on October 18. The Massachusetts native recorded at least one point in every MAC Freedom contest, including a pair of assists against Misericordia on October 29 that helped Stevens clinch the No. 1 seed in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Moroney closed out her career with the lone goal in Stevens' 2-1 setback to Amherst in the NCAA First Round.
Moroney etched her name into the Stevens record book, finishing fifth in career goals (44) and points (102), and sixth in game-winning goals (11).
