West Point, N.Y. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team opened its indoor slate on Friday, competing on the first day of the Crowell Invitational.
The two-day event, hosted by Army, featured no team scoring and included competition from Army, Medgar Evers, Vassar, Mount St. Mary's, and others.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Isabella Shanley led the Ducks with a second-place finish in the pentathlon, totaling 2,957 points. Shanley won the 800-meter segment in 2:28.69, placed fourth in both the 60-meter hurdles (9.58) and high jump (1.44m), and finished sixth in the shot put (7.93m) and long jump (4.80m).
Stephanie Ryazanova also competed in the pentathlon, finishing ninth with 2,391 points. She took fourth in the long jump (4.83m), fifth in the 800 (2:51.37), eighth in the 60 hurdles (10.13), ninth in the high jump (1.35m), and 11th in the shot put (6.13m).
OF NOTE
Shanley moved up to third on the program's all-time pentathlon list, surpassing Liana Meyer's 2023 total of 2,936 points.
