Men's Tennis Takes Down Shenandoah, 5-2

Box Score Fredericksburg, Va. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team overcame a doubles setback to knock off Shenandoah University 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ducks dropped the doubles point after falling in two of the three matches. Matt Luzzi and Samvid Andhare were the lone victors at doubles, winning 6-1 No. 3. The top duo of Vivek Harinarayan and Olof Persson fell 6-3 as Mihir Parcha and Max-William Kanz were knocked off 6-2 at No. 2.

Stevens started the comeback with a come-from-behind victory at the top of the lineup by Kanz. After dropping the first set 7-5, he pulled even at one with a 6-3 triumph. Kanz notched the victory in a tie-break, winning 7-6 (7-5). Parcha registered a straight-set win at the No. 2 position, claiming a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win over Artem Babaiev.

Andhare notched a win in the first frame at No. 3, going in front 6-2. Jovan Cirkovic of Shenandoah responded with a win in the next two, winning 6-4 and 7-6 (7-3). The Ducks took control at the bottom of the lineup, going 3-0 at the bottom three spots. Aidan Miller registered a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4, while Luzzi earned a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 6. After falling behind 6-4 at the No. 5 slot, Dhaivik Chenemilla staged a major comeback. He won the second set 7-5 and took the third 6-2 to seal the Stevens victory.
