Shanley Leads Women's Track & Field at Fastrack National Invite

Staten Island, N.Y. – Isabella Shanley took second in the 60-meter open event to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team at the Fastrack National Invite on Friday.
 
The event had no team score and featured several Division I programs along with regional opponents Swarthmore College and Rowan University.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Shanley excelled in the 60m, finishing second in the open event with a time of 8.12, and placed 20th in the 200m at 26.37. Stephanie Ryazanova also competed in the 200m, finishing 58th in 28.2. In the 400m, Lauren Alley led the team at 1:01.96 (54th), followed by Anya Sadowski at 1:03.21 (64th) and Allie Canciani at 1:03.71 (68th). In the 800m, Taylor Enes placed 53rd (2:28.69), while Isabel Vogel finished 62nd (2:30.7).
 
The distance medley relay team of Kaitlyn Adams, Taylor Enes, Nina Burden, and Isabella Gabay secured a sixth-place finish in 13:02.68. In field events, Canciani had a strong showing in the high jump, placing eighth with a mark of 1.60m, while Maya Lapinski, Maggie Previglian, and Caroline Tighe all tied for ninth at 1.55m. Ryazanova competed in the pole vault, clearing 2.9m for 18th place.

The Ducks return to the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex tomorrow as they compete in the Big Apple Invite beginning at 3 pm.
