Allentown, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's track & field team won five events across a myriad of disciplines on the second and final day of the Muhlenberg Invitational Friday.
Competing against regional foes Moravian, King's, and DeSales, among others, the Ducks won the 400 meters, 400-meter hurdles, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 5,000 meters, and pole vault.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Isabella Shanley was the only competitor in the 400 meters under 1:00.00, finishing in 57.92 seconds, less than a second off her personal best.
Isabel Vogel finished third in 1:01.29 (her personal-best) and
Taylor Enes ran 1:03.62 (her personal-best), finishing in sixth.
Anya Sadowski took the top spot in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.46, more than four seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.
Kaitlyn Adams ran away from the field (literally) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 11:47.07, 47 seconds ahead of the field. Adams increased her lead by 17 seconds over the final 600 meters.
Isabella Gabay clocked in at 18:24.46 in the 5,000 meters, not only winning the race by nearly 45 seconds, but also posting the fourth-fastest time in program history and fastest time for a Duck since April of 2018.
Alexis Merola and
Stephanie Ryazanova finished 1-2 in the pole vault, with Merola clearing 3.05 meters (the only competitor in the field to do so) and Ryazanova one of just two to clear 2.90 meters.; Ryazanova also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles, running 17.79.
Elsewhere,
Maggie Previglian and
Maya Lapinski were 2-3 in the high jump, clearing 1.62 and 1.42 meters, respectively; Lapinski was also second in the high jump (5.12 meters), while
Lauren Alley was fourth in the 800 meters, running 2:25.55, just three seconds back of second place.

The Ducks will begin the three-day TCNJ-hosted Multi and Invitational next Thursday.
