Men's Golf Opens Up Spring Season at The Ruckus

Williamsburg, Va. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team sits ninth after the opening round of The Ruckus on Saturday.

The Ducks, who still have two golfers to finish the opening round tomorrow, tallied a +37. Sebastian Beaver was through 16 holes 
and Arav Tank finished 17.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Beaver carded a one-under through 16 holes. He was two-under on the back-nine, recording birdies on the par-4 11th and par-5 14th. Beaver notched a three-over on the front nine, opening his round with a birdie. The sophomore sits tied for seventh with five other golfers.

First-year Alex Carey shot a +9, 81 to tie for 41st after the first day. 
Carey tallied his lone birdie of the day on the par-5 seventh hole, and tallied three consecutive pars on 15-17. Just behind Carey was Dillon Kim who notched a +11, 83. Kim had five pars on each nine, including six out of seven at the turn. 

Tank (+16 through 17) and Punn Chittaratlert (+24) also competed for Stevens, with Tank opening his round with three straight pars. Chittaratlert concluded the round in style, converting a birdie on the 18th.
