Men's Tennis Tripped Up by No. 26 Carnegie Mellon, 5-2

Pittsburgh, Pa.– The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team put up a strong fight against No. 26 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday, ultimately falling 5-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After the Ducks dropped the first doubles match of the day to go final, Vivek Harinarayan and Matt Luzzi turned a 2-all set into a 6-3 win at No. 2, and the Olof Persson/Max-William Kanz pairing rallied from 5-3 down for a 7-5 win to clinch the opening point for Stevens (3-4).

In singles action, Aidan Miller dropped the opening set of his fourth-flight match, but went 6-3, 6-2 in the second and third sets for the comeback win. Dhaivik Chenemilla took the first set, 7-5, at No. 6 and was tied 2-all in the second, but dropped the set and the ensuing 10-point tiebreaker.

Samvid Andhare led 3-2 and 5-4 in the second of his match at No. 2, but inevitably dropped a straight-set affair. Noah Pe was tied at 2-all in the first set and 3-all in the second of his match at No. 5 but eventually fell in both.

In all, Carnegie Mellon (7-4) took the first three singles points, closed out the win in the penultimate contest, and picked up the day's final point in Chenemilla's match.
