Men's Track & Field Opens Up at Virginia Beach Spring Break Invitational

Virginia Beach, Va. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field team opened up the outdoor season at the Virginia Beach Spring Break Invitational on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading the team with first-place victories were Ryan Paradine in the 3000m steeplechase (9:54.9), Jake Aylmer in the 5000m (16:07.6), and William Ladd in the high jump (1.80 meters). Close behind, Danny Jutras finished second in the 5000m (16:10.2), followed by Enrico Parrella in third (16:27.1) and James Adamo in fourth (17:15.4). Kevin Medrow had a solid showing, placing fifth in the 800m (2:03.8) and seventh in the 1500m (4:19.0), while Jake Porco earned fifth place in the 1500m (4:17.5), with Matthew Hodorowski finishing tenth (4:22.0) and Joseph Ruben twelfth (4:25.1).

In the hurdles, William Ladd placed sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:01.0), while Connor Robinson finished ninth (1:01.4). Connor Effinger took ninth place in the 110m hurdles (18.96), and Joseph Perriello competed in the 200m hurdles, placing nineteenth (24.35). In the 400m, Rai Bindra finished eighteenth (54.21), followed by Xavier McWilliams in twenty-second (54.81).

The field events saw strong performances, with Joseph Perriello finishing fifth in the long jump (6.32 meters) and Brandon Kiefer taking sixth (6.31 meters). Justin Gajewski placed eleventh in the long jump (5.71 meters) and also competed in the triple jump, finishing eighth (12.38 meters), while Connor Effinger placed ninth (12.30 meters). In the pole vault, Andrew Anantharajah and Braedan Joyce tied for fifth (3.45 meters), while David Huang placed eighth (3.15 meters). Joyce also competed in the javelin throw, finishing seventh (44.22 meters), while Jerry Chen placed fifteenth (35.52 meters).

The Ducks return to competition on Friday as they head to Chester, Pa. for the two-day Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener University.
