BAYONNE, N.J. -- The No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team put up a strong showing against No. 32 Haverford on Friday afternoon, ultimately dropping the non-conference match, 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Samvid Andhare and
Aidan Miller picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles for Stevens (4-5), but the Fords (6-2) grabbed the early point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
Miller dropped the first set at No. 4 singles, but took the second 6-4, then bageled his opponent in the third, closing out the comeback win for his second victory of the day.
Andhare also picked up his second win of the day with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, one of just two straight-set contests during singles play.
Elsewhere for the Ducks,
Max-William Kanz took the opening set at first-flight singles and rallied from 5-0 to 5-3 in the second set, eventually falling in three sets.
Vivek Harinarayan also took the first set at No. 2 singles and was tied 3-all in the second before he too dropped a three-set affair.
At No. 5,
Mihir Parcha rallied from 3-2 down for a 6-4 second-set win in an eventual three-set victory for Haverford.

UP NEXT
The team will host both NYU and Misericordia – the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opener – on Saturday, April 5 from Bayonne. First serves with the Violets and Cougars are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
